The Simple Power of Reverse Lie-In

Today I want to introduce you to a concept that one of my clients shared with me and it's a bit of a game changer for exhausted, overwhelmed parents: the reverse lie-in.

Have you heard of this?

The idea is that rather than spending a leisurely Sunday morning in bed, reading the paper, sipping tea, and eating pastries, you create that experience for yourself in the evening. Pick a day to go to bed super early, like as soon as your kids are in bed, and put it in your calendar so you won't forget. And then pick a few special things to bring with you: maybe it's a favourite podcast, a crossword, or a fantastic book. Be sure to include a nice snack and a lovely beverage. Get into your coziest pyjamas and leave your phone in another room.

We can't control when our kids wake up in the morning but with a bit of planning and intention, we can still create some leisurely, cozy time for ourselves.

If you're looking to claw back a bit of space for yourself, while also boosting your energy, this might be for you.
