Simple Practices for a Joyful Cyclic Life

I know many people read these articles because they want to live in tune with the seasons and they're curious about menstrual cycle awareness, but actually shifting to this way of life? That can seem a bit confusing and overwhelming.

So today I want to really simplify things and give you a few super simple practices that will take this stuff from beautiful theory to real, lived experience. Just pick one thing to incorporate into your week. It shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes.

✔️ In your planner or on a calendar, write down your cycle days for the month ahead (day 1=the first day of your period when there is bright or dark red blood).

✔️ Pick one meal that you're going to make a double back of next week so that you can freeze half of it to eat when you're on your period. Pick up the ingredients this weekend if you can.

✔️ Take a few long, deep breaths and exhale noisily. Turn your attention inwards and just notice what thoughts, feelings, and sensations are currently present for you. What 3-4 words sum up your mood and energy today? (Bonus points for writing them down!)

✔️ Pick one beautiful, quintessential summer experience you want to have with your family this year, put it on your calendar, and make a plan so that it actually happens.

Small things can have powerful effects (just like mosquitoes and homeopathic remedies, right?). We can make big changes by simply weaving in one new thread at a time, eventually changing the tapestry of our life significantly.
